Books I Read: December 2020

December flew by way too fast! Where has 2020 gone!?

Well, I bet a lot of people are glad to see 2020 disappear – I am happy about it too. However, I will say that this year has been incredible for my reading progress!

In December I read only three books, but I surpassed my goal of reading 50 books by TWENTY!! Yes, I read 70 books this year!

Next year I will have some really fun goals – more about that in a second…

As for December, here is what I read:

1. The Showstopper

Kyle Robertson

The Showstopper was such a great book to read! This historical mystery has suspense, murder, confusion, love, and so much more! I am not usually a mystery reader, at least not this type of mystery, but I am really glad that I picked it up.

Kyle Robertson was connected to me by a mutual friend and he is featured on my podcast, Read It With Whiskey, and you can find his specific episode HERE!

2. The Cursed Queen

Colleen Forbes

If you enjoy fairy tale retellings, then this is the series for you! The Cursed Queen is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast! There is a very interesting twist to the original curse that we see in Belle’s story; this curse is CHOSEN by the protagonist! I won’t give away anything else for you.

This is another author I found while searching for people to interview for my podcast. Again, you can find the podcast at www.ReadItWithWhiskey.com.

Colleen’s episode will be launching in February 2021! You can listen to the full podcast episode on the website HERE!

3. Midnight Sun

Stephanie Meyer

Alright, it was time for a break from reading my podcast author’s books, so I decided to listen to Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer! If you’re familiar with the Twilight series, then you know the EXACT story that is within this book, only there’s a little twist to it – it is told from Edward’s point of view! What?!

I absolutely LOVED to be able to listen in on Edwards side of the story. In Twilight, and the other books in the series, I hated that I could not know what Edward was thinking. Now that I know his side of the story, it’s making me lean towards being on Team Edward rather than Team Jacob…? Oh gosh.

If you enjoyed Twilight, then you have to read this one!

It is with a heavy heart that I conclude the BIR 2020 series! This year has been so incredible. Thank you for coming along on the ride with me!

As you could tell from the last two months blog posts, the Books I Read series is going to be changing A LOT! The blog posts that I have been publishing every month will no longer be continued. I will now be featuring the BIR series in AUDIO form!
