Personal Development

New Years Resolutions are tough…

…tough to think of, tough to tell people about, and tough to follow through with. I have always been the kind of person who creates elaborate resolutions and goals throughout the year. I am also the kind of person who falls short of completing my goals and resolutions. Throughout the years I have had resolutions related to reading, fitness, happiness, nutrition, financials, cleanliness, writing; the list goes on and on. This year I have decided not to pick just one thing to focus on but a Word instead. My word for the year of 2018 is COURAGE.

Courage can be defined in many ways; however, I will focus on the one that means the most to me for this year:

Courage is the strength to venture, persevere, and withstand

danger, fear, or difficulty.

What does that mean to me? Well, it means doing things that would otherwise scare me, forgetting about the fear, and pushing through. Fear has been a block for me and a deterrent that I have a hard time getting over. I fear a lot of things, as many others do; however, the one thing that scares me the most is THIS BLOG. I am terrified of what people might think of my writing, my opinions, or my decisions. I am terrified that it won’t be successful. However, through this Word, I am going to push through and have confidence in myself. I can do this. And I will.

This blog is where I am going to write about all of my little resolutions, my career, and more. Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Yes, I have one word that encompasses my year of resolutions, but I also have a lot of little resolutions that I have been playing with. As I said, I am focusing on this one word, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a few smaller options to play with.

Resolution #1: Create a profitable blog and business for my happiness, health, and fitness dreams. I long to help people through health and fitness, but more importantly, I long to help people find Happiness. One way that I am going to make this possible is by making time for my business. I am going to dedicate between ten and twenty hours per week to this blog and business. My first way of doing this is by waking up every day of January by 4:30am. That’s right, I am going to wake up every day this month by 4:30AM!! That sounds terrible, but it really hasn’t been that difficult so far. Waking up so early is going to help me find more time to dedicate to my writing – essential!

Resolution #2: Maintain my health and fitness through an active and nutritious lifestyle. Note, I did not say Diet. I do not like that word. “Diet” makes it sound like a struggle or a punishment, but calling a nutrition change a lifestyle change and way of life, creates a hopeful and positive outlook. I am already health and fit, but I wish to continue on this path through various challenges which I will share with all of you along the way.

Resolution #3: Stay tuned…
